Workitu Abule, age 6, was treated for trachoma during a mass drug administration two years ago. That is when her mother, Amarech Huluka, learned about the SAFE strategy, especially the importance of facial cleanliness. Now Amarech makes sure that her children have clean faces so they can avoid getting trachoma, an infectious eye disease.
