Animation - People, Partnerships, and a Pill: 20 Years of ITI
Trachoma is an eye disease caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis and is the world's leading infectious cause of blindness, with over 150 million people at risk. The International Trachoma Initiative (ITI), a program of The Task Force for Global Health, works with ministries of health and partners to end this vicious cycle and give communities the opportunity to thrive. The role of ITI is specifically around the antibiotic that's donated by Pfizer to treat and prevent the infection. ITI helps with managing, distributing, mobilizing resources, providing technical assistance, and generating data so our partners know where and when to stop treatment. We believe that a world free from trachoma is possible. Learn more about the International Trachoma Initiative at www.trachoma.org
