ITI also houses the Trachoma Expert Committee, the decision-making body that reviews applications for azithromycin donation for trachoma control.

In 1998, the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation and Pfizer Inc. founded the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI) to help answer the World Health Organization’s call to eliminate blinding trachoma by 2030.
The staff of ITI are committed to achieving this goal, working closely with national programs and other partners.
